From the late 1800âs to now women have come a long way in their struggles to be completely equal in a world where they are seen as the âweaker sexâ. Women have fought for many privileges and rights from something as simple as respect to more complex and controversial issues such as fighting on the front lines. Slowly but surely women have gained most of the rights and respect deserved with the help of great leaders such as Susan B. Anthony, Margret Sanger, and Betty Friedan. In the late 1800âs women were struggling with the right to vote since the 15th amendment did not include anything about sex but advance in womenâs education and in the early 1900âs women made some major gains in the workplace because of the Great War. Then in the Roaring Twenties women broke out of their molds with the appearance of the Flapper and the 19th amendment. Women are still fighting to be completely equal to men in society though the issues now are much less severe.
