Lights of the Aurora

: radiant emissions from the upper atmosphere that occur sporadically over the middle and high latitudes of both hemispheres in the form of luminous bands, streamers, or the like, caused by the bombardment of the atmosphere with charged solar particles that are being guided along the earth's magnetic lines of force.

lights of the aurora was formed in the early spring of 2006 by members Spencer Young, Bobby Browne, Trevor Hunnicutt and Austin Browne from the previous project, fourth score. The main passion that the band shares is an ability to express emotion, faith and trust through musical experimentation and expansion to others. With a strong drive through some of the most combined sounds including thought provoking lyrics, comforting guitar melodies and purcussion that flows in waves, lights of the aurora proves to be an experience that brings new thought. After recently recording with producer Craig Smith (a faith called chaos, sierra.livesonthemoon) and releasing tracks from their upcoming full length "Carry the Astronaut", lights of the aurora has followed with regional and select national dates promoting the release. To our fans-thank you so much for your love and support, we are doing this for you and hope to see everyone at the shows.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the weather this summer so far...its been so rad at times and completley killer at others. First off, thank you so much to everyone who has been leaving us encouraging comments and listening to our new song so often, you are all amazing to us. We have been concentrating everything latley to composing new music and taking a small break from shows in order to finish our full length in time. Aside from the select shows we have booked (if your in the houston/austin area this weekend come to the shows cause they will be awesome!) we will be spending the rest of our time in the studio until mid to late august. As for our East Coast tour that was scheduled with The Miles Casting, we have decided to take the dates off of our page until more was confirmed due to a lack of communication between us and the people involved in booking the tour. Also, we have news about a label that we can't post yet, but def keep it in mind for when the full length drops because it will be siick!! Other then that, I am going to be in Maine for a week or so soon, Trevor is making people pass inspection while having a brand new little sister around the house, Austin is chillen and jammin as usual and Bobby has started his new career with the rest of us in extreme frisbee. studio recording + tecate

Hey everyone, I thought I'd get on here and post a little update as to how our band has been doing. First off we're all doing awesome and loving where the music is taking us, mentally and physically. We've been playing constant shows for the past 2 months which have all been so rad, to anyone who was at these shows and came up too meet us...you're awesome and thank you so much for your support. I swear, our band meets nothing but the nicest people on earth. Aside from this we have been spending alot of time in our make shift studio at Trevors house writing what will eventually become our first full length with the inspiration of "make sounds that the mind has yet to hear". Anywho, it's been awesome writing this album and we can't wait to record it. As for the release of our cd, we still have not decided on a date but we are tracking a new song late May or early June with Deep Ellum Studios to be posted on our websites by early June (along with some acoustic work) so we can get a preview to you guys of what the full length will sound like. We are also almost done with our merch designs which really came out looking pretty sweet and we're stoked to print by our May.4th show (which by the way is for an awesome cause, environmental concern on our eco-system and global warming, something we all need to be deeply concerned about) so if you would like a shirt or simply to chill with us before/after we play come out to any of the awesome shows we have booked. That's all for now, sorry this is so long but I thought you guys would like to know what lightsoftheaurora has been up too. Photoshoot by Parscale + tour update

Hey guys, I apologize greatly for the lack of an update on our sites recently...we have been constantly playing amazing shows for beautiful people in the area and concentrating our energy into the writing of our first cd to release, which has taken up almost all of our time. Everyone has been so supportive and encouraging to us and our music so far which is such a blessing. Thank you guys, you are the best : ) .

After last nights show in Midlothian we headed back to Dallas today to take our first official photoshoot ever by Parscale Photography. Our man Brandon who shot our pictures along with (Thrice and Mute Math) was extremley professional and we want to say a big thanks to him for making it happen for us. None of us had ever done anything like this before and had no idea what we were doing which made for very strange 2 hours of laughing and falling through the back drops. We should have the new pics posted within the next few days, so leave us some love and tell us what you think.

Our schedule seems to be filling in pretty quickly over the next few months with shows and trying to schedule enough time to write and eventully record. Towards the end of this month myself, Austin and Trevor (Bobby can't make the first two dates of tour so we will be playing acoustic sets until March.2 where he will meet us in Tulsa) will be heading to Jackson-Mississippi with our boys in A Heartwell Ending on Feb.28 then Little Rock-Arkansas on March.1, Tulsa-Okalahoma on March.2, and finally Dallas-Texas on March.3 and Plano-Texas on March.4. I promise to update for the next month or so as soon as our schedule gets more clear and I am able to talk about a few plans that lightsoftheaurora has for the very near future.
