Since their inception, Liars Academy has been synonymous with a lush sonic presence, heartfelt melodies and hook-laden choruses. The band formed during the fall of 2000 following the breakup of Cross My Heart, which front man Ryan Shelkett and drummer Evan Tanner had formed years earlier. Still eager to create meaningful music, the duo joined forces with longtime friend Matt Smith, guitarist of Richmond-based punk stalwarts, Strike Anywhere.
