I'm just experimenting here, right now. These are all unpolished works-in-progress. If you think you hear potential, let me know; we can all use a little encouragement in this world.

I write, play, record, and edit everything here. Music, video, text, pictures, etc. The only exception is that Q. went through my pictures once and optimized them all, for which I am thankful.

Most recording is done these days via the internal mic on an old HP laptop running a stripped down version of Ubuntu Linux. I do my editing with Ardour & Audacity, and am slowly fading out use of Audacity as I learn more about Ardour (I truly am a total amateur). The album "OpenSource" is both experimentations in multi-track songwriting, individual instrumental practice, conceptual-melodic development, and training for myself in audio editing. It is recorded using open source software on an open source OS (even the cover was created from scratch in The GIMP). It is also, (currently?), completely downloadable for free.

The "Mixed Emotions" demo exists only as a concept, and all those songs are nearing 2 years of age; there was no editing done on them, they are straight recording-to-web pieces, first take stuff. When I recorded "Wendy", I hadn't even been playing guitar for one year- I recorded it on a laptop that is now dead, with my brother's [then] new Little Martin LXM.

If you'd actually like a CD with my stuff, I'd be glad to print out some sweet art and burn you a hand-signed homemade one; just let me know. Let's say $3 on Paypal.

I'm also willing to take requests for stuff, though I've never done that.

Influences:

There are some primary influences I hear in my sound above the rest- Sufjan Stevens, Dustin O'Halloran, Radiohead (In Rainbows), and to a potentially lesser extent, Coldplay's first two albums.

You can find other artists I like by checking out my Pandora, as mentioned under "Pandora Radio" below.

Other Music:

I also play with a few folks; we call ourselves "craftsmen", and we have a purevolume here.

Also, I am involved in the UKOJ project.

Pandora Radio:

I highly recommend Pandora Radio- tell it what you like, and it will find more stuff for you to like. I've found many an artist here. My tastes have resulted in this station (click quick mix in the gray box on the left). It is ever a work in progress, so know that I don't like everything there.

I just hope you get a musical spark from the experience, is all.

Contact info:

The email at the right is just a spam-catcher. Purevolume seems to be very glitchy ever since they updated their layout a few months ago, so I recommend emailing a duplicate of any message you send on purevolume to mr(dot)sapientia(at)[gmail](dot)(com), if you have time. Otherwise, purevolume will probably (cross your fingers) work.

i really like your music, and what you wrote too. i like it because you admitted that you are only human, and few people ever do that, to admit they have weaknesses and desires. i hope you add more songs. Aug 14
