Actual Name : Nikos Tan

Biography : I started learning piano in 1992 and stopped in 2001 because I lost interest and due to the fact that my piano teacher lays his foot on the keys and digs his nose while teaching me. I have not gotten a single grade then. In 2004, I got to know a friend and he asked if I was interested in forming a band with him to play alternative music. I agreed and went home and opened my piano for the first time in 3 years. I completely screwed in reading scores and I got my aid mainly from another band member who plays the guitar. He is a guinness in the piano, drums, guitar, and the flute. One day, A friend who plays the piano as well came and starting talking about perfect pitching and tested me. That's when I realised I am almost perfect pitched.

I picked up piano lessons again in 2005 and got my grade 5 in 6 months. LOL! Today, I improvise music based on my emotions. Majority of my compositions are composed and arranged by ear. I basically play almost any instrument with black and white keys (except the harpsichord and clavi) and I do arrangements for many music projects as well as compositions. I am currently teaching and also learning under the guidance of Northwood Music Singapore and Mastereign Centre of Performing Arts. I am also planning to pursue fine arts and study Modern Piano the ANZCA way! Oh yes, I LOVE IMPROVISING! (:

Current Compositions

"Let's Chill Tonight" is a piece composed and arranged by me. The guitar playing features Amirrul Hafiz the awesome guitarist! (: This is just a random recording done in 3 hours. Pardon the mistakes!

"ë§Œì•½ì— (If) actual artiste is Taeyeon from SNSD. She sang this song for a drama called Hong Gil Dong (í™ê¸¸ë™).

"Life Without Boundaries" is a piece of soundtrack specially written for a time-lapsed video created and produced by Raphael. I obtained inspiration from Moby's "In My Heart" and Coldplay's "Viva La Vida". haha! Check out the video HERE! The video will explain everything about this track. (:

"Serenade" is an instrumental cover I did based on the piece by Jim Brickman. I arranged this cover for Northwood Music and did a live performance for it. There are some timing problems though. I had to improvise this piece and not play according to the score. I apologise for the problems. (:
