What happened in the early, summer months of 2005? What happened when four John Doe Scoundrels united their passion for songwriting, performing and picnics? Kessel Run Happened. These four Whitby native lads came together, meeting through friends, after many months of each searching for band mates to form a full line up of fearless rockers! Together, they could finally begin to achieve their dreams of rocking anyone, anywhere, willing to listen and even that a little less willing. Any dreams of navigating through other systems, in a ship with Chewie and the gang, would have to wait.

One of the common attitudes of Kessel Run is the fact that there should be no limit to what influences their music. Music is an expression of feelings, emotions and ideals. Therefore each and every one of Kessel Runs songs, is a creation of combined passion and influences, comments vocalist Nathaniel Flower. This union has birthed a unique yet catchy sound that makes it difficult to be bound by any generic labeling. Kessel Runs sound comes from a number of genres such as; rock, pop, post hardcore, punk, alternative and others. The band has self labeled themselves as Fun!Core, in other words simply meaning, a hell of a good time.

The bands past year together has been equally productive as it has been fun. The boys began playing shows whenever they could, beginning to develop a local base of fans which, will only continue grow. With a recent Demo/EP recorded and many new tunes completed, or on the way, things are looking good for Kessel Run. The boys will surely grow as a band and continue to rock the audiences of all the shows the play, with their electrifying stage presence, contagious rock out attitude and chemistry as a band.
