Formed in 2005 in the city of São Bernardo do Campo (São Paulo, Brazil), the band Keepsie has faced lots of ups and downs before finally reaching this that can be considered its first official release. During the past five years, the group has been through many changes in its line-up, as well as in its musical style. The band’s original core, though, has never changed. Since the beginning, Wagner Almeida (guitars), Rodrigo Vizigal (drums and keys) and Danilo Alves (bass guitar) have sticked together, always trying to take higher steps with their music. As the boys grew up into full-fledged musicians, in 2008 they finally started making a heavy-metal-based sound.


Along with it, they came up with the idea of writing songs in English. At last, they decided they wanted to record their material. But it was not that easy. New changes in the band’s line-up took them to a period of inactivity during the 1st semester of 2009. Fortunately, though, soon the team became complete again, with the arrival of Pedro Russel (guitars) and Victor Y. Camilo (lead vocals) to the band. With five songs already written, in August 2009 Keepsie started a warm up routine aiming the recording sessions. This large investment of time and energy led the band to a pretty spontaneous recording process, which its final result, the EP The Root, pleased them all.

Wake Up, Crushing The Walls, Obsession, Empty Girl Inside and When Heroes Come Home are the names of the songs featured in the EP. Although the members of Keepsie consider themselves a heavy metal band, they do not underrate melodic and clean passages, and do recognize their importance to potentialize the aggressive and heavy parts of their songs. Their influences go from Metallica to Aerosmith. From Pantera to Miles Davis. Now, confident in their strong and diverse music, Keepsie’s musicians are eager to reach as many ears as they can. Be it with Obsession’s deep melancholy, with Wake Up’s inspiring aggressiveness or with When Heroes Come Home’s catchy melodies, they lay their bets on their originality and creativity to fight for their place in world-wide heavy rock scene.

antes de chegar a esse que pode ser considerado seu primeiro registro oficial. Ao longo dos últimos 5 anos, o conjunto atravessou diversas mudanças em sua formação e em seu direcionamento musical, já tendo passado por estilos como o hardcore e o metalcore. Nunca alterou, no entanto, seu núcleo inicial, composto por Wagner Almeida (guitarra), Rodrigo Vizigal (bateria e teclado) e Danilo Alves (baixo), que sempre se mantiveram firmes no propósito de levar sua música a patamares mais elevados. Com o amadurecimento dos integrantes, em meados de 2008 surgiu um foco mais voltado para o heavy metal. Junto dele, a idéia de se fazer letras em inglês, e a vontade de registrar seu material. O processo, no entanto, não foi fácil. Novas alterações em sua formação levaram a banda a um período de inatividade no primeiro semestre de 2009. Felizmente, logo o time voltou a ficar completo, com a entrada de Pedro Russel (guitarra) e Victor Y. Camilo (vocal). Com cinco músicas já compostas, os membros da banda deram início, em agosto de 2009, a uma rotina de ensaios e reuniões, buscando a melhor forma possível para si próprios e para as suas canções. Esse investimento de tempo e energia culminou em um processo de gravação muito espontâneo, cujo resultado final, o EP The Root, satisfez a todos. Wake Up, Crushing The Walls, Obsession, Empty Girl Inside e When Heroes Come Home são os nomes das canções que compõe o EP. Apesar de serem declaradamente um grupo de heavy metal, os rapazes do Keepsie não fazem pouco de passagens mais melódicas e introspectivas, e reconhecem sua importância para potencializar momentos de maior peso e agressividade. As influências vão de Metallica a Aerosmith, de Pantera a Miles Davis. Agora, confiantes em sua música forte e diversificada, os músicos do Keepsie pretendem atingir o maior número de ouvidos possível. Seja com a melancolia profunda de Obsession, com a agressividade inspiradora de Wake Up ou com as melodias cativantes de When Heroes Come Home, eles apostam em sua originalidade e criatividade para lutar por seu espaço no universo do rock pesado mundial.
