Julie Roths lifelong passion for writing and performing her original music is clearly reflected though her lyrics and enthusiastic melodies. Learning how to play guitar out of sheer boredom, Julie began writing her own songs at an early age. Combining her unique voice, piano, and guitar skills, she uplifts her audience with lyrics that are easy to relate to and down to earth. Julies performances demonstrate her love for music and gift of sharing her music with others. Now a student at the University of Dayton, Julie hopes to gain a new audience and contribute the musical culture of the school.
A 20 year-old native of Napoleon, Oh., Julie began leading worship and performing original music for her home congregation. Branching out to other churches and venues, she has played her music for many fundraisers and organizations, such as Relay for Life and Benefit Bash. Always jumping at an open-mic, Julie feels most comfortable in coffee-house settings. She has performed regularly at Ohio Universitys Frontroom and Union Perk in Hillsdale, MI. Her live performances and recordings have been aired on radio stations such as WNDH and Toledos YesFM. In 2004, an internationally-aired video show, Contact 29:18, featured Julies music and ministry. As a junior in high school, she recorded her first EP, Unimaginable. One year later, her full-length cd, Imperfect Obsessions, was completed. College brought many new opportunities for Julie, including participation in Girl/Solo/Live, an event created by award-winning singer/songwriter Emily Strand which features female artists. After a successful first year of performing in the Dayton area, Julie was contacted by Kingdom Media Records, a local record company looking to sign it's first artist. Julie signed with the label in September 2006 and immediately began recording the new cd. Kingdom Media hopes to release new Julie Roth tracks by the first of the beginning of the new year.
