My last post on purevolume occured in July 2006. I ought to be ashamed. Apparently, without really noticing, I too was sucked into the myspace trap. I just thought I'd create some action around here and apologize to my purevolume friends for treating you like the redheaded step-child. I've never used that analogy before because it always sounded really mean, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Turns out it is mean. I like redheads. And step-children.
Well I hope you'll forgive me, nonetheless.
Big things are on the horizon, including some new songs and shows. In the meantime, check my myspace at www.myspace.com/julieabelle. Give me a week or so and I promise to bring purevolume up to date too.
Songs: I went to the studio last weekend to work on a new song, and will be going back next weekend for more! The hope is to complete 3 at once, so keep your fingers crossed for me.
Shows: Like I said, check myspace for a current schedule. The big news is I won the first round of the Bean-a-Battle last weekend, including the unanimous vote of the judges! The finals are in May, wish me luck!

I made the trek back into the studio last Friday for a work day. We laid some new tracks for a new song called "Ours", which I hope you will thouroughly enjoy when it is finished. It is a fresh sound for me, with a bit of a pop/rock feel to it. There's a lot of room to build on this song, so we experimented with all kinds of things--piano, guitar, drums, possibly some strings...you name it. Its a brand new song even to me, I only wrote it a couple of days before going into the studio, which was a fun new experience in itself. My songs are usually quite old to me, so I get stuck on certain aspects of the song. But to be certain, I'm not really stuck on anything with this song, since I'm still figuring it out myself. I think this one is going to take a great direction. We did some re-mastering work to Israel as well, and hope to have the new version posted in the next week or so.
Other new developments...
A new (real) website is coming! Watch for updates, you won't want to miss it.

I believe that most people want the world to be a better place.
Deep inside of us is this intense desire to fix what we've broken. For each of us the remedy looks different. But we have in common that same ache for repair. This song is my picture of the remedy...the story of Israel. People looking for their Messiah. The one they were all waiting for, who would come and fix all that is broken.
