Judas Cole and the Regretts started as a RPM Challenge project. The RPM album was called hotel and was written and completed with in week. A few of Judas Cole's influences are Bob Dylan, The Dandy Warhols, The Rock and Roll Worship Circus, and Mike Doughty. The Cellphone demo tapes were recorded one night while hanging out with long time friend Jessed Dold. Jesse is the lead singer of Longday and also sang in Manassas Junction, Luster, and The Living Daylights. The songs on "The Cellphone Demo Tapes" Were recorded with one mike while Cole showed Jesse a few new songs. Cole was also a member of Manassas Junction and the band Mu5tard.
