Johnny Duke and the Aces is a young, high energy blues band that takes much inspiration from Jazz, Rock, and Funk. While having many original tunes to fill their sets, they also enjoy covering original versions of legendary tunes. From the Funky Meters to Ray Charles, these boys cover a lot of inspirational ground. JDA finished the album "Taillights" in the summer of 2006. This album features Johnny Neel, the former keyboard player for the Allman Brothers, and David Bromberg, an internationally recognized musician of many styles. In February '07, they where invited to open for B.B. King on three shows.

"Johnny Duke" Lippincott is an inspiration to guitarists all around the Delaware area. Having Mississippi roots, the Delta-blues style of music is frequently evident in his guitar playing. David Bromberg, Johnny's mentor, said in the international magazine Dirty Linen (2004), "If you stick around tonight, there's a 16-year old guitar player who is as good a blues guitar player as any I've ever played with, and I've played with some really good guitar players. That's John Lippincott He's a killer!" Just recently, Bromberg said in an article of the Philadelphia Inquirer that Johnny is "the best electric blues player in town". With Johnny Duke and the Aces, John continues to impress people with his showmanship, his talent for songwriting, and his guitar skills that are graceful, moving, and "professional", as recently stated by the King of the Blues himself, B.B. King (after sitting in with him at a clinic in the summer of 2005 in Mississippi). John is currently studying music at Berklee College of Music in Boson, MA.

While on the prowl to find band members, John had a specific structure and sound in mind; a four piece with a lot of raw power and talent, to match his level. And that is what he got. Cam Tyler, an experienced and talented drummer, fit right in when he started jamming with Johnny. By applying his inspirations from Funk, Jazz, and Gospel music, Cam has been able to create his own signature sound that is truly unique in this blues-based quartet. Cam is currently enrolled at the Drummers Collective in New York City and will be attending Emerson College (Boston, MA) starting Fall '07.

Ian "the Wild Man" Walsh, who puts down his silky-smooth bass lines and back-up vocals, is a crucial part of Johnny Duke and the Aces. Ian, who has been building on an in-the-pocket tightness with Cam Tyler since a very early age, was a natural addition to the band and provides that great bass sound to back up Johnny on guitar. Watch for his funky, in-your-face, slappin' and popin' bass sound! Ian will be attending Berklee College of Music in the fall of 2007.

Johnny Duke and the Aces' newest member is Noah Schy, hailing from Vermont. Also a student at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, he is a master of the keys and brings a new sound to the band. Funky clave, rhodes, fuzz organ, you name it; you will hear him holding it down in this blues quartet.

Together, these four determined youngsters have become the "talk of the town", so to speak, in the Delaware area. They have wow'ed crowds all around Northern Delaware, the Delaware Beaches, Philadelphia, New York City, and even in Beverly Hills, California! The band has opened for open for the King of the Blues himself, B.B. King, Wind-Up recording artist Omnisoul, blues legend Johnny Winter. They where also nominated for the 2006 New Music Weekly Awards under the category "AC/Hot AC Breakthrough Artist of the Year". Johnny Duke and the Aces is truly a sight to see and hear because of their professional-caliber sound and feel, despite their young age. Now with two records under their belts (Self-Titled "Johnny Duke and the Aces", and "Taillights"), their Music Video for the song "Don't Feel Too Good", and their always-increasing fan-base, these guys are bound for stardom.
