Hello again friends,
Another entry into the sporadic blog.
I hope everyone has enjoyed my video. I thank each of you for the friendly comments about it. It was great fun to shoot. A BIG Thanks to Britt Edwards and his lovely wife Cadle for helping make it possible (and for delicious Red Thai Curry...and Manor House).
Currently, I am preparing for the recording of my new EP. I am working on it with my very good friend Richard Whiting, with whom I have played alot of video games and shared alot of coffee. He's also a great song-smith and producer. You can listen to other stuff he's done at Richard's MySpace Page. There's also a link to his website, which features some of my artwork and graphic design (a hobby of mine).
I heard the Decemberists' "O Valencia" when I was eating dinner at Chili's yesterday. Southwestern Eggrolls.
In other news, I will be playing a show with THE Kenneth Scott of Kenneth Scott and Cosmic Party, Saturday, Sept. 29th at Mojo Risin' Coffee in Houston. I will send an event invite as soon as Kenneth tells me what time the show is. It's sure to be great fun. It's absolutely some of the best coffee I've had, and the place is so cool. Come to the show.
I'm very excited about the release "of Across The Universe" this weekend. I've been looking forward to this film for sometime. Go see it.
This is the end of my blog entry. I apologize for the misleading Modest Mouse reference in the title...the song is stuck in my head. I thank you for reading and hope to hear from you soon.
Stay Classy...JH

I have just posted my new music video/EPK. That's "music speak" for Electronic Press Kit, but it takes too long to say it that way.
Anyway, I made this video with a great friend of mine in Franklin, TN. We wanted to allow people a quick insight into where I'm coming from as a songwriter. The video features my new song "The Fighting Game" which will appear on my next EP.
Head over to www.virb.com/johnhatfield to view the video.
It's also available at myspace.com/johnhatfield and on YouTube.com
So have a look. Feel free to share it around. Leave me some feedback. Bake me some cookies.
Ok. I don't need cookies.
'til next time...

Hello friends,
Just a quick comment.
If you haven't created a page on Virb.com, GO DO IT NOW. It's such a cool customizable site. If you love Purevolume, you will flip for VIRB. It's also got some great artist interaction stuff where you can see my videos and photos and listen to tunes.
My page is virb.com/johnhatfield
I would love to be able to use VIRB as my main page, but I need you to help kick it off.
See you there.

Man, I love me some Cheerios, especially of the honey-nut variety. I recently discovered that, prior to marrriage, my wife had never experienced the deliciousness of Honey Nut Cheerios. So I went to the store and bought the biggest box I could find. Needless to say, she likes them now.
So we're on a mission to find a better cereal than Honey Nut Cheerios, and I defy anyone who says such a cereal exists.
Lower Cholesterol Here We Come!
(not that our cholesterol was high or anything)
IN OTHER NEWS...
I am about to begin working on a new EP with my great friend Kenneth Scott. 5 songs, some great tones, and certainly lots of coffee in the process.
There are rumors that I may be making a music video with my friend Britt Edwards...hmm.
My wife and I are buying a house...Stress City. The house isn't in Stress City, but I believe the Realtor's office is.
I don't know if you noticed, but I finally have a Layout on my page.
And I'm blogging.
If you stay tuned to my page you will see a veritable cornucopia of news and shows coming soon, as things are headed in a whole new direction around here.
Thanks for stopping by. But mostly, stay classy.

Hello friends,
So many things are changing...
I'm getting married soon...This is teaching me alot about patience and love...and stress relief, which I seem to need, but do not need nearly as much as my bride-soon-to-be. We are growing together and learning and preparing for this great transition...and it's teaching me so much about love and truth and the desperate need we all have for both.
Which brings me to my next point.
It has been a personal endeavor of mine in recent months to begin writing new material. And not just spitting out new songs, but writing in new ways, wth a new purpose and perspective. The world looks different now, at the ripe old age of 22, than it did when I wrote the songs on the franklin house | ep. So, naturally, I am exploring new thoughts and feelings and methods of writing, both lyrically and musically.
Bear with me through these changes...I may not blog for a while. Not that it matters...you're on here to listen to good music. So sit tight and we'll see what comes out of the next few months.
Thanks for being such great friends and listeners.
