Johannes was founded in the spring of 2003 by Joey Johnson and Lucien Hughes. At the time of its inception Johannes consisted mostly of late night jam sessions at a local church near where they both lived. However it didnt take long for a dream, a purpose, a calling to manifest itself in the hearts and minds of Johannes founders.

They shared a dream of bringing an upbeat, lively, interdenominational, youth-oriented worship service to Brookings, the small coastal town in Oregon in which they both lived. They named it Louder and it currently has a following of nearly a hundred local hight schoolers and adults.

After sucessfully bringing Louder to Brookings for nearly a year with bass player Nick Gurney and Pianist Gramps, Johannes hit the road with their first tour through Oregon. This tour consisted of their own music and praise songs known to most youth groups. The tour consisted of two weeks.
