Joe Jitsu is a 4-piece pop punk band from Beaumont TX. The term "pop punk" is thrown around alot these days. We stand by the term as originally derived from The Ramones, as in 3 chord, short, melodic pop songs. We fuse our own style of the genre by mixing buzzy/fuzzy guitars with grab you by the heart hooks and topping it off with honest vocals and harmonies. Get all that?

We formed in the summer of 1997. Originally consisting of Brett on guitar,Tron on drums and Charlie on bass and vocals. In May of 2000 we recorded "Lonely Teens Club" and later released it on Brucemonkey Records of Salem, OR. Shortly after, Brett went away to college and we took a year and a half break where Charlie and Tron played several shows with good friend Poppy Robbie in the pop trio, The Koopas.

In 2003 we came back in a big way. Kye joined as 2nd guitarist and really added to our live show. In December we recorded our first full length, "Start it Up", recieving several good reviews and feedback. Throughout 2004 we played tons of shows around Texas, playing alongside great bands like: The Groovie Ghoulies, Dirt Bike Annie, The Ergs, O' Doyle Rules, 41 Gorgeous Blocks, The Flipsides, Even In Blackouts, and The Rushmores among others.

We released our 2nd Ep, "Catastrophe" in mid 2005, and ventured out on tour for the first time to support it. "Catastrophe" was very well recieved, and hailed as our best record yet. Also in 2005, we got to open for bigwigs, The Methadones and Darlington.

In 2006, we have high hopes of another longer summer tour and hopefully a full length by the end of the year! Stay tuned!
