J. JONES 501

R&B / Soul

Performing and recording since 1998, Arkansas-based vocalist, J. Jones, has made quite a name for himself.

Filling venues such as NiteLife Rocks, Joe's Big Bamboo, Planet Earth and R&B's Lounge to capacity, and receiving airplay on Central Arkansas' two largest urban radio stations, Power 92 and Hot 96, Jones has shown growth and added depth to his repertoire.

Jones sold over 5,000 copies of his first CD, V.I.P., in 2001, without any label or distribution support. He has opened for Amanda Perez and recorded with rock band, Saliva, on their Back Into Your System album.

Raised in a rough area of North Little Rock, Arkansas, known as Rose City, Jeremy Jones faced an almost constant barrage of fights, making it through with seven broken noses, a broken collarbone, and a handful of busted lips.

Once he finished school, Jones married and bought a pizza restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas. Although the marriage ended in divorce, it also resulted in the birth of his first daughter, Skye. His ex-wife has since passed away from a drug overdose. Jones ultimately sold the restaurant due to a robbery that left him with 20 staples in the side of his head and concrete debris from a 9mm bullet striking the wall beside his head, fired as the thief was leaving.

Jones has since remarried to a gorgeous woman and wonderful mother, Jill, who has stuck with him through many years of hard times, and the two have another beautiful daughter, Gretchen. He has also started his own car business.

Music is where my heart is and I want to be someone in this industry if its the last thing I do before I die, said Jones, I have a lot of ambition toward my music and will do what ever it takes to accomplish my goals.

He looks to start doing shows again as soon as his upcoming album, Port of Entry, is complete, in December of 2006.
