Original and introspective is what many call the songwriting of Jimmy Roman. Since the age of 15 hes been wearing his heart on his sleeve. Best known for his eclectic ballads, Jimmy portrays somewhat of a lost art.honesty. Now he debuts this brutal honesty on his new EP Vagabonds Riches. Recorded and produced by CR Pendleton (John Reuben, Spoken, Jeff Anderson), Vagabonds Riches is nothing short of a miracle for hungry ears.

Pushing the envelope on fresh sounds, Jimmy Roman delivers a project sure to make you think and take life more seriously. The first track Touch & Go speaks of the deep emotional pain that comes with promiscuity and a life of one night stands. Its a story if you will, of a girl settling for less than love and a boy taking advantage of her searching.

Underneath this story comes Heart of Your King which is sure to be the anthem for followers of Christ everywhere. The song is loosely based on the book The Barbarian Way. Jimmy Roman has captured his longing to be completely abandoned to Jesus in this song. From the simple guitar picking in the beginning to the giant climax of sweeping and passion filled vocals in the end, Heart of Your King shows us that the heart of Jesus is worth taking risks for.

Last but not least the 3 song EP ends with Notion of Trust. To put it bluntly, the music takes you back to rendezvous with the soundtrack of Top Gun, while pumping your ear lobes with cool guitar riffs and an atmospheric sound reminiscent to that of Coldplay and U2. The lyrics focus on the loss of a friendship due to standing for the truth in a situation thats gone awry.

So much is packed inside this EP many wonder if it will lose its translation on stage. With simply an acoustic guitar and energetic vocals, Jimmy Roman delivers a confident live show owning the stage for the 45 minutes he has. From the time you leave the show to the time you put Vagabonds Riches in your car stereo, you will be convinced that there is a reason and purpose that youre here on earth. This purpose can only be found in Jesus Christ.
