My name is Jim. Listen to my music because it would be a pity for me to have skipped as many classes as I have to write this stuff if you don't. There tends to be a good bit of variety between these songs, so if you hate one you might not hate them all. On the other hand, you might, and wouldn't that be a crying shame. Email me with questions, comments, love letters, death threats, etc.

I'm currently in the business of composing music on commission; if you would be interested in having a song custom made for any event (or just for listening), email me at stavingartist@stny.rr.com. Popular venues are cheerleading competitions, synchronized swimming routines (Keuka College Varsity Synchronized Swimming), and miscellaneous other requests. Email for more information.

Okay, so I lied a little about the downloading thing, I'm leaving "Minuet and Trio" and a few more up for download still. So...yeah. Cool.

Today is 12/07/06 and as stated in the note below, all songs have been taken off download. If you have questions or requests or just things to say, send an email my way.

Most songs will no longer be available for download as of 12/07/06! If you want to download but haven't gotten around to it yet, this would be a good time.

Sometime in January the song list will be reduced to four songs. Let me know which songs you want to hear and I'll put them on rotation.

I try to keep as many of these songs available for download (until 12/07) as possible, but there's a few exceptions due to issues mostly involving me getting paid.

Check out "Frozen Future" on the Shibuya* Syndicate site; it's a collaboration piece and it turned out pretty neat.

No more downloads, but you can custom-order music

I've opened the songs on commission business to everyone-email me if you would like to have me write a custom made song exactly how you want it. The cost is very flexible and on the cheap side. Great for dance parties, sports events, just for the hell of it, anything really.

Album Coming Up Soonish! Plus New Song (Let's Pretend)!

Putting out another CD in the relatively near future, probably after I finish the slew of songs I'm still working on (sorry it's taking so long, Shibuyas and Ned), called The Ambiguous Lyric. And the new song is called "Let's Pretend" and is kinda fun I think. Anyway...I gotta go to work.

New Songs: Piano Sketches

I just sat down and recorded these. They're solo piano versions of full songs that I've written but haven't gotten around to recording the full versions of yet (versions with lyrics, cello, guitar, maybe some dance beats, etc). So here they are...hope you like them.

Two New Songs: "Spare Parts (Keuka Mix)" and "(The Last) Lullaby"

And here's the next of the ten. This is a remix of "Spare Parts" for the Keuka College Varsity Synchronized Swimming Team, who also commissioned "Losing."

...back to work.

...(Afew hours later)...

"(The Last) Lullaby" is finished. Two songs in one day! If I was ever this productive in any other aspect of my life, I'd probably be recording with a nicer guitar.
