How Does the iPhone 4S Match up against the Samsung Galaxy S2

blog post
Design
Now, this really depends on individuality. The Samsung Galaxy S2 includes a bigger screen at 4.3 inches when compared to iPhone 4S's that is 3.5 inches. However, the Galaxy S2 is much thinner at 8.49mm, whereas the iPhone 4S is chunkier. In most cases, the Samsung is really a bigger phone, which is great in terms of screen quality, however the iPhone does feel good in the users hand of the hand. Whilst the look really is a few taste, it's difficult to look past the sleekness of the iPhone 4S.

Winner: iPhone 4S

Display
As stated, both phones have different sized screens, but how does this modify the display of either? Well, the iPhone 4S has retina display, a 640x960 pixel resolution having a pixel density of 330ppi. It boasts an LED backlit touch screen which has a multi-touch and scratch-resistant surface with oleophobic properties to avoid greasy smudges. With the Galaxy S2 using a larger screen, it does result in the picture stand out, nevertheless it has less pixels, 480x800, along with a reduced pixel density of 217ppi. It achieves a sharper visual quality because of Samsung's Super Amoled Plus technology, but you can't argue using the iPhone's leading pixel density.

Winner: iPhone 4S

Processor
The Galaxy S2 includes a faster processor than the iPhone 4S. The previous has a 1.2GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor whilst the second has got the 1GHx equivalent. The Galaxy S2 provides a superbly fast performance with no delay whatsoever, with many webpages and applications taking virtually no time at all to load. This is exactly what Samsung do best, and whilst the iPhone has excellent graphical acceleration, it is the Galaxy S2 that wins this round.

Operating-system
That one is actually going to set the kitty between the pigeons. It really amounts to whether you're a fan of the iPhone's iOS or Samsungs Android system. When the Galaxy S2 was first released it used Android's 2.3 Gingerbread operating-system; it lacked a great deal in terms of browser functionality, and generally looked outdated. It didn't compare to the iOS5 the industry lot more fluid and helps to create an excellent integrated experience.

However, you can now obtain the Galaxy S2 with Android's latest 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system which has huge changes towards the interface, messaging, Web browser plus much more. As stated, it amounts to that which you prefer, and being the most recent operating-system released, we feel it should get the nod.

Winner: Galaxy S2

Camera
These two phones have exceptional cameras. With 8 megapixels at 3264x2448 pixels along with a video capture of 1080p, it's difficult to split up each of them. Considering the secondary cameras on the display side from the phone, then Galaxy win without doubt. Their 2megapixel camera dwarfs the iPhone's VGA camera in connection with this. However, these come into play an excessive amount of, so we're calling it a draw here.

Price
You will have to pay much more for that iPhone 4S compared to Galaxy S2. The former costs over £500 brand new, whilst the second may cost just under £400 unlocked. Both include good contracts, but as iPhone is recognized as reasonably limited phone, you'll end up spending a lot more on the monthly contract, if you don't pay more for the phone obviously. You can get a much more for your money from the Galaxy S2, especially if you are looking for a less expensive contract. Without doubt they're the winner here.

Winner: Galaxy S2

Overall Winner
Well based on the number of categories, you'd need to state that the Samsung S2 is the foremost phone. However in the spirit of diplomacy, there's not enough categories to provide the iPhone 4S a fair crack. In most cases there isn't much that separates the two; except if you're on a budget, in which case you'll get more for your money using the Galaxy S2.
