I'm eighteen and I've been playing guitar for five years. I create music based on my thoughts and feelings. Just simple, honest stuff.
I'm compelled to write alternately by what I feel internally and what I notice externally, reactions to events that have everything and nothing to do with me.
I regard "musician" as the only viable profession for me to enter. So far I've seen no evidence to the contrary, and I hope it stays that way.
Drop a line, let me know what you think. I'm working on recording an album right now so any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated.

Well, not really... but a lack of new content for such a long time is a greivous offense. Worry not, children. My partner-in-crime Joe (the man I record with) had returned after a few-weeks' trip to the west coast. Off the top of my head, I estimate that I have recorded four songs with him (ranging from nearly complete to barely lain down), and that I have three and a half more ready, in addition to the usual shit spinning around in my head, waiting to be plucked out. Why, just today I combined two music ideas that have been taking shape for well over a month.
Soon I plan on returning to the studio, and with the best of luck, within a few weeks I will have a seven- or eight-song EP to distribute to the masses. I am unsure what to title it; traditionally bands and artists name an EP after a single song (such as the Strokes' The Modern Age EP), but there is something to be said for breaking the rules - I'm thinking something along the lines of "Where are we going, and how did we get there?"

Tonight was the first Battle of the Bands taking place at my school in years. I won. $100. It's supremely amazing that I've been deemed worthy of such a prize by my peers, but I wouldn't have cared if I hadn't won. I don't think any of us would have. There was such a supportive vibe backstage from everyone, to everyone else. It was more like a joint performance. The competition didn't even matter. How redundant am I? Anyway, There are supposedly recordings of the entire evening, so you might find some *live tracks* on here soon. *Live tracks*. What a luxury.
Is it just me, or am I getting all the breaks one can have with my music career?
I'm happy.

Ahhh, the unfortunate reality of trying to record with school, a part-time job, and general laziness. Well, what's new with me? I got my taxes all done and paid. If I had just made $300 less, I wouldn't have had to pay any. But that has nothing to do with music.
Leave me comments. It's encouraging. God, what a whorish thing to say.
Happy Easter!

I'm off to Joe's today! He owns a smattering of wonderful equipment which we use to record my music.
But I haven't eaten yet...
*rummages around kitchen*
As soon as *crunch* I am finished with this delicious *crunch* bowl of *crunch; chew; chew* granola, I am off to Joe's! *swallow*

...I wish. But, I did mention this "web site" at a recent Gathering of the Forces (known to the masses as Acoustic Caf), and maybe, just maybe I'll have some of my lovely schoolmates coming to party with me.
Just to bring you up to speed: Due to newly-found access to hours upon hours of free recording time, at something like a professional studio located in the apartment of my coworker Joe, I'm working on an album called "Introspection." Unfortunately, due to constraints on time I have been forced to revise the goal to recording an EP. An EP, my dears, is a sample of material released by a band (or in this case, solo artist) and usually contains 5 or 6 songs. I want to get the thing finished by graduation, so all you lovely seniors can take a copy with you, if you wish. There is only one song on this site that is close to its completion - "A Single Phrase." The others are versions I recorded at home, one track, on a computer microphone. Not the ideal recording situation.
So what does this mean to you? Hopefully sometime before May 12, I'll be toting around copies of this EP at school. I don't know... based upon the reaction to my performance today, I'm thinking at least two hundred will be needed, but I might be overestimating my "Artist Power."
If you are interested in having a copy, though, let me know. I may look like a complete jerk from a distance, but up close I can be rather personable.
These EPs will be officially free, but if you feel like "donating" a small amount of dollars (under five, likey), that would be fab fab fab. Music is fun stuff, but it's also a lot of work, especially recording it... but then again, I know what it's like to be a "poor high school student," so if you want some free music (and I've certainly paid for little of my 11,000-song collection, myself), that's cool too.

i\'ll try to say this in the most nonstalkerish way
possible: you basically own. i heard you last thurs 6th
hour in the acoustic cafe, and i was blown away. my
friend told me about your father dear song and i was
really interested to hear you, and this is going to
sound corny but i was holding back tears. i would most
def buy a CD of yours. well you\'re busy probably and i
just sucked up about 3 minutes of your time. so keep
spinning those tunes and take care. -audrey
