"James's writing truly upholds everything good, right and true about American Roots music. Like Kristofferson, Prine, Goodman and Zevon, James Curley is a visionary way ahead of today's mainstream songwriters." Timothy Edward Jones - journalist and author of CountryConversation

James F. Curley is a singer, songwriter, son, father, husband, sibling, entrepreneur, impresario, tall-tale teller, Celtic descendant, lapsed Catholic, neo-Buddhist, post modern persona housed in the great Prairie Metropolis on the shores of Lake Michigan. His songs are forged from living in Pennsylvania, Texas, Colorado and Illinois with occasional travel offering California and New York ingredients. Fond of stews, James prefers a very eclectic range of subjects for his songs with the exception of broken hearts and unrequited love, which are already covered in vast quantity and diversity by virtually every other songwriter. The songs on this site are some early mixes from the forthcoming CD 'Manufactured Meaning' - a meditation on post 9/11 and post Katrina America and the entire song catalog of my 2003 CD titled 'Tom's Cafe'.
