In 2001, Jah Roots began creating positive vibes and spreading the message of RastafarI through music with their four original members. A year later, they recorded their first album "Steppin' Out of Babylon". Soon after they added keyboards & the saxaphone, as well as known DanceHall artist BaddaFlexx, which gives their music a truly upbeat flare. They have played shows with well known local bands like Big Smith and Speakeasy. In addition to their regular appearances at The Outland, they have also booked shows at the The Copper Club in Fayettville, The Happy Banana and The Bearded Clam in Branson. With packed houses at all their shows, they have generated a very loyal fan base. Many fans encouraged them to market their album to sell, instead they focused on spreading their message. They give away at least 100 CD's per show and encourage their fans to copy them and share, which has done wonders for them locally. With their first album out and circulating, they have recorded their second album, "More Herbs for the Youth". Opting against spending time on production and artwork for their albums, this new CD has only a small flyer with the song list and web address featuring artwork and their information. The combination of their strong following and notable talent has landed them many opputunities to play in different cities. This June they will be opening for world-famous reggae singer Luciano and Bob Marleys and countless others saxophone man, Dean Frasier. They have traveled and played all over the U.S.Locally at Club Viva, the same place that has brought in reagge legends Michael Rose of Black Uhuru, Midnite, and The Itals. They have additionally participated in the city's Culture Appreciation and City Appreciation Days. They have also been featured at many festivals alongside such reggae bands as Murder City Players,Yardsquad,Roots and Roots, Elisha Israel, Az One, Jah Kings, and Rising Lion aka Danny Dread.
