Post tour trauma!
blog post
Well we just got back from the Fifth Man / Jael tour early monday morning after a fun and exciting time away in hervey bay, rocky and yeppoon. We never have a tour where something doesn't go wrong with the bus/van or trailer, in the past we've had flat tyres, dodgy timing in the engine, locked keys in the bus, blown the head, snapped the trailer off, broken the trailer door, broke a brake light and the list goes on and on and on. I knew it was just too much of a perfect tour with our new bus and no bus troubles!! so we had dropped off all the fifthman boys and were on our way to drop scotty and timmy off when we heard some loud skidding and the trailer was racing us up the street, it bashed into the back of the bus a couple of times only doin minor damage which is a relief and then the trailer stopped dead on the road. We stopped the bus and all jumped out to try and lift the trailer full of amps, drums, sound gear, guitars and keyboard and we managed to get it off the road with the help of some nice strangers who got woken up by the loudness of the event. They let us store our trailer in their yard until we had someone come and tow the trailer home. We looked at the tow ball and the bolts had come undone and the entire tow ball snapped off!! There was no damage to the trailer or connections and minimal damage to the bus so praise God someone was watching over us!!! Its just lucky that it didnt happen on the highway with more gear in it and more people going at 100km/h!! well we finally got home by 1am and all is well, i just thought it was an interesting event in the life of jael!
