Jack Trudel is a songwriter and guitarist from the San Francisco Bay Area. To date, he has written over 200 songs in a variety of genres, including pop, rock, alternative, and country. Recently, Jack has garnered praise from the music industry for his talents as a composer and lyricist. His songs are often characterized by their melodic hooks, honest emotions, poignant lyrics, and clever word play.
Many artists have recorded and/or performed his songs, including Tammie Davis, Keren Gaiser, Patty Speed, Magic Rage, Lee Jones, March Hare Band, Toby Humstad, and Jason Phillips Band. Three songs received airplay on a syndicated radio show featured on 400 radio stations in 21 countries. Another song received an honorable mention in the 14th Annual Billboard World Songwriting Contest.
Born and raised on American Top 40, Jack started writing songs at age 13. While in high school, he was a disc jockey and music director at two student-operated radio stations. Consequently, most of his songs are "radio friendly" and reflect an eclectic, yet mainstream appeal. Contrary to popular opinion, he believes it is possible to write commercial songs without necessarily selling out as a songwriter.
Over the years, Jack has collaborated with various artists and producers to hone his skills as a songwriter. Through his publishing company, Jack is actively engaged in licensing songs for film and television placement. Although music and poetry are separate and distinct disciplines, he has always strived to combine infectious melodies with poetic lyrics to captivate both readers and listeners alike.
Jack's tracks are filled with intimate stories, vivid images, and humorous anecdotes. Many songs illustrate his ability to turn a phrase as a wordsmith but defy categorization within any single genre. His approach to songwriting is to identify a phrase or idea and focus on the melody, which sets the mood and drives the lyrics.
