I weathered one more year.
The growing shadows
Don't seem to share
In my sorrows.
Everything and the leaves
Is gettin' scarce.
And there's a hunger
Just below my rib bones
That will only cease
With the rain
And the brotherly blooms of spring.
Keep steady thy laden head.
Steady to a bed of dregs.
Cause I've been chasin' you 'round
This whole damned city.
You'd think it such a pity,
All the falls I took.
I was sittin' by the furnace
Just trying to read your looks.
I ponder the science
Of those little things:
Your body's warmth
And your pulse pulled close to me.
And I wait for spring
But never think of the greenery.
Thou hast those colors too.
And thou hast thy music.
