It Prevails is a five piece melodic hardcore band hailing from Portland, Oregon. Formed in 2004, the band draws influence from 90s metal hardcore and classic rock. Bands like Shai Hulud, Twelve Tribes, Strongarm, Lifetime and Hot Water Music were on constant rotation at hangouts during their inception. A premium was placed on lyrics related to struggles of the human condition and altruistic actions. It Prevails released a four song EP, Indelible in 2005, their debut album The Inspiration in 07, and their most recent effort Capture & Embrace on February 17th 2009. A new EP, Findings is set for release in Summer of 2010. Their official site is www.myspace.com/itprevails.
