Flower Delivery Online Is Expanding as well

E-commerce was initially introduced in the 1990's. It's grown enormously since and therefore turnover from e-commerce alone has exploded.

The amount of florist shops in that same period however, hasn't increased but interestingly the internet flower industry has.

There are probably several explanations for this. Today it is quicker to order flowers online than ten years ago. More people search on the internet today than in the past, and also the fears of making transactions online have dramatically reduced whilst simultaneously technical developments and innovations in e-commerce have rocketed.

In the early days of e-commerce there was great skepticism about shopping on the web but with advancements in internet security, we have seen that even the more wary older generations are actually trusting the web like a safe and easy method to shop and send flowers.

In the current fast-moving society individuals are always looking for the simplest, quickest way to successfully juggle their ever increasingly busy lifestyles, whilst successfully maintaining important relationships with families and family members. Sending flowers is a simple and easy method of doing that, making sure that, that particular someone recognizes that they're in your head wherever you're or what you are doing.

The reality is however, that big occasions take into account the lion's share of online flowers sales. Mother's Day is by far the largest, closely then Valentine's and Christmas but we're also seeing a trend that more and more people are going for to transmit flowers just to show their appreciation or to say thank you throughout every season.

Still it appears to be mainly ladies who send flowers online with approximately 70% of online flower customers being women. There's of course one obvious exception - Valentine's. It would appear that men tend to prefer to send flowers for romantic reasons, whereas women send flowers for their parents, children, siblings, colleagues and friends through the entire year, only to express feelings of joy, sorrow, gratitude or thanks but additionally let someone know they're thinking of them.
