Lars Ulrich Says Metallica Will Return Stronger And Healthier Than Ever

Metallica was forced to postpone tour dates last month so that lead vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield could enter rehab. The band's drummer Lars Ulrich has given an update to their fans to let them know how Hetfield is doing.

Ulrich says his bandmate is doing well and that he's in the process of healing himself.

"I feel bad but we're excited to get back to full force and come back stronger and healthier than ever," Ulrich told USA Today. "Along the way, there's obviously an occasional bump in the road. But it's been an incredible ride, and we're looking forward to getting back down there, hopefully next year."

He says he and the band are surprised and thankful for how positive fans, friends, and peers have been about the situation.

"It's very heartwarming, and it's just blown our minds how much love and appreciation and support we've gotten in the last week since we had to postpone this. It's an incredible thing."
