Located in the Yongsan District of Seoul, South Korea, the Yongsan Garrison Base is the only American military base that’s centered in a large international city. It’s here that U.S. forces perform military exercises with South Korea’s military, in order to prepare for any threats that North Korea presents.

Several U.S. leaders have visited this base, including George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Kerry, and Donald Rumsfeld. Many of the base’s offices and operations are relocating to Camp Humphreys in a nearby South Korean metropolitan area.
