Industrial Noise Band began in 2000 with an impromptu practice session, recorded with a cheap tape recorder placed on the floor. The tape that was produced, CoreCore, was quickly forgotten, until it surfaced a year later and prompted another practice, which produced one album, Forever Young Die Today. Industrial Noise Band's early attempts were not successful, and few copies of these rough recordings survive. However, the band's third effort, The Howling Fury, was a local success. "We basically gave out hundreds of CDs, and those were, you know, passed around," Mason explains. The follow-up records, The Legendary Winter, Industrial Noise Band Was Wounded Badly But Its Soul Still Burns, and Back From The Forest of No Return, were equally successful.
Industrial Noise Band's unique sound is inspired by jazz, funk, rock, indie, and pop, frequently combining multiple genres into one song. "Homeless 80s Arcade Guy", to be released on the next album Now and Forever: The Battle For Eternia, begins with a mellow guitar, electric keyboard, and male and female duet. However, after some key changes, the song transforms into a truly industrial sound with abrasive rock metal vocals. "Couch" uses sparse, emotional singing layered with acoustic guitar and synthetic drums.
