Members: Richard, Hedzer, Roy, Daan, Gert-Jan
September 2002, a brand new band was born called 3rd Element. A long and beautiful dream finally got its fulfilment. Founded by Roy and Hedzer, playing in an almost collapsing barn, 4 people were covering some old, historic metal music. Trying to not tear down the place, they were also writing music for their own. Lyrics and music that represented their lives were written down and played out loud.
When the band started to lose some of its immatureness and was getting more serious in writing music a difficult period began. About 5 months after the band started their vocalist, Richard, became ill. This took about 6 months; luckily the 3 remaining band members didnt loose their dedication and creativity. They kept on going, writing music and lyrics, because they were positive about the return of their vocalist. In fact the whole period didnt slow them down, because a lot of attention was given to writing music.
At the beginning of the summer 2003, their vocalist returned. A new era, a new dawn. This meant more progression within the band. With this return a new member, Patrick, entered the band as bass player, also a second guitarist, Gert-Jan; made his entrance (he was there in the beginning but only writing lyrics).
Because of these fundamental changes the band members decided to change their band name.
3rd Element became Incission.
They wanted to reflect their thoughts and music through this name. The deeper philosophy behind the name states that an incission should be made to let out all of the thoughts, memories and creativity.
The formation didnt last a year. After some months the chair of the bass player changed individuals. Patrick left and Daan made his entrance in the band. The other 4 members know what they had to do, getting Daan to play. And Daan didnt get much time to integrate, because a gig was ahead in the nearby future. Luckily the bass lines were learned fast by Daan.
And now, settled in a very nice shed with coffee and enough energy from a central heater to keep them warm during the winter, Incission is making music which Metal is all about.
Incission is:
Richard Bruggink Vocals
Hedzer Dijkstra 6 Strings
Gert-Jan Hofmeijer 6 Strings
Daan Bootsma 5 Strings
