Imasash was formed in early May of 2003, we are a Rock/Screamo band from Calamba City, Philippines. Please do check out our shows around and out of town.
Emerging from a 3 piece band to a 5 piece band, imasash was originally formed by guitarist/vocals) Erwin Malabuyoc and (drummer) Carlo Soriano of CoverFortyEight. The Band name "IMASASH", (which sounds a bit Japanese/Russian), was derived out of random words and was chosen for its unique and distinctive sound. The band was later joined by Aaron Brian Barundia and Gerald Mascardo respectively late September of 2003. Imasash started writing and playing their original songs in mid 2005 and continued on with a new drummer Arvin Makiling and guitarist Jeff John Ercia early February of 2006. Guitarist Ryan Gambaloza from the band Euphoric Dreams joined the band in mid 2006 when Jeff John left for HK. Bassist Rei Felipe of NoTouch joined the band May of 2007.
Imasash produces a sole sound which cannot be restricted into one genre, their sound grew from the influence of bands like Deftones, Staind,Team Sleep, Funeral For A Friend, Saosin, Armor For Sleep, The Almost, Nature Living, Start of the Day, LoveMeButch, Keepsake, and Broadside to name a few, added up with their own musicality. The've recorded their first single "Kiss and Tell" last October of 2006 and now they're currently recording for the completion of their EP.
In a time period of 3-4 years, the band had several changes in their line up of band members which arrives them in their myspace url "myspace.com/weareimasash"
