THE IDYLLS are aptly named - an idyll being, among other things, a simple, pleasant musical composition, and the band, THE IDYLLS, being a group of talented musicians who simply love to play Billy King's music. Guitarist Kip Godwin is a long-time musical friend and neighbor of the Kings, as is vocalist Kristen Uthus. On bass, drums, and percussion respectively are Tim Berla, John Marion, and Charles Dayringer. All three are Ann Arbor musical veterans who have been on the local scene for decades now. As a group, THE IDYLLS are, indeed, not only unpretentious and pleasant but also sensitive and creative, every way capable of and suited for conveying the unique, subtle exuberance of Billy Kings music.
