Nowadays the Montreal rock scene is very creative and IDIOMATIC's new release is a good example of its diversity.
THE ROOM is a 13-song journey into the world of hopes, love, disillusion and the quest for understanding one's goal in this world. Of course, it's easy to understand its immediate British influences as the first songs come out of the speakers, but THE ROOM suddenly shifts into darker regions of the mind.
Emmanuel - lead singer and guitar - wrote all the songs on this album and has gathered around him a great team of friends and musicians : the bassist - Jide - is a unique and powerful melodist, and the drummer - Frederic - really knows how to give life to rhythms and intentions; lead guitarist Cedric - is a versatile musician bringing colors and atmosphere to the whole concept.
Producer Joe Pacheco is certainly the 'fifth Beatle' here : no doubt about that. The whole album unfolds and brings you to a musical climax only great concept albums used to do in the days of old when the bands were not only trying to become one-hit wonders.
