For a genre that's foundations are rooted in individuality, the hardcore genre has given birth to hordes of cookie-cutter bands, of whichs success is often measured by their ability to imitate the stereotype. Every once in a while however, a band surfaces that sets the circles of influence into motion. Remarkably harnessing exceedingly more intensity than the typical hardcore approach by utilizing melody, I Call This Safety approaches creating their music with an emotive and heart-wrenching attack that is equal parts brutality and beauty.
Established in the winter months of 2006 in Ottawa ON, the esteemed roster of I Call This Safety is comprised of former Is Grace Enough touring veteran bassist Ryan Berthiaume, ex Darker Red vocalist Kyle Samuel and guitarist Alex Cossee, once For the Mathematics drummer Jon Busby, and My Dying Triumph guitarist Nick Bradbury.
Drawing from hardcore influences all over the map, ICTS create an intense performance that needs to be experienced and with the release of their debut five song EP expected this fall, hopes to promote their album to the fullest through relentlessly touring thereafter.
