June 11, 2006

After much deliberation and thought provoking meditational procedures, we have finally decided to add another member to our band. Tyler Saine, our new bassist, is welcomed into our band as we move on in anticipation of the next year.

We are waiting for Steve, and it is very difficult. As many of you may have heard, he has joined the national guard in efforts to receive training that he can use in the future as he adds the experience to future resume's. Hopefully everything will be good once he gets back, but we wonder exactly what will happen upon his return. A punk/rock band with a member in the military...I have never heard of such a thing. Punks these days seem all about dissing anything American, including any semblance of support for war of any kind. Well, guess our band is a bit different. We will see what happens in the upcoming year when Steve returns in August.

As far as music goes, we are writing again. New songs. They are pretty. Much more intricate than some of our old ones, and hopefully you guys will like them.

Well, it's time to brush my teeth and go practice at Chris' house. Peace dudemen and dudettes. See ya at the show in August!

Ok, so we're crap. Sorry we haven't done a show in forever. We have been hanging about doing various things, so we may not do any more shows...EVER! j/k (hopefully). Well, Chris is almost done with football, and Preston almost up to date with the band. The CD has again been halted, since we decided to ditch the crap CD idea. Instead, we're going to produce a 5 song DEMO CD actually in the studio. It shouldn't be too long, and we hope to have a professionally recorded album out by spring. If anyone is interested in helping get this, our first album, out, feel free to donate to the Hydroplane music fund. Thanks for all your patience and enthusiasm!

Yo all! We are in the middle of recording a "better sounding" set of songs, and we are interested in knowing what you think. Check out the beginning of our work! Listen to the resample on the right of the screen. It's a resample of "A Fragile Life's Decay." Let us know what you think!

Later & lots of love to all ya all!

Hey friends! Thanks for coming to Balfour this Wed. It turned out really well, and the youth leader even said that next time he would pay for advertising when we play for the youth group again. We only were able to play 2 songs, but thanks to William and his awesome sound system, we sounded better than at our show in Bakersville (aka Hicktown).

We are tossing around the idea of coming out with a professionally recorded 5 song demo CD, but we are not sure about the idea. Costs like $100 per song. 5 songs = $500. That's a lot of money for us!

We are excited about some new songs we have written. We can't wait to play them for you and eventually record them. Well, my guitar is calling me, so later for now.

This weekend we did a show in Bakersville, which in many ways did not turn out like we had planned. Let's just say it was a definite learning experience. We tried to record ourselves at the gig, but my computer freaked out on me. It did, however, record a song of the bluegrass group that played at the show with us. lol. Thought you guys might want to hear it.

Our next gig will be better we hope. Check out the time and date above, and come on down. We are playin here in Hendersonville this Wednesday, so all are welcome! Thanks guys for your support. You're all awesome!

Hey everybody! Check out our new recordings and let us know what you think of them @ hydroplanerdude@gmail.com. We recorded these songs out of a tiny microphone built into a computer monitor, so sorry it's a bit rough sounding.

We will be placing 3 more songs online. so be on the watch for them. We are currently working on a 6 song DEMO CD, and it will have the six songs that we have played on here on the CD. It should be out by the end of the summer at the latest.

Ok, check it out and let us know what you think! Talk to ya later!

Well, there's a lot going for the band right now. Just recently Hydroplane joined Empty No More and Save Our Souls in concert, becoming the third member of the "brother bands." Chris Pace, our booking agent/awesome all-around guy informed us that we could now play under a collective name. We call our three bands, Trinity Productions.

Also, another awesome thing happened recently. During the Battle of the Bands that we performed in at Biltmore Baptist Church in Asheville, a dude named William came up to us and asked if he could do sound and lighting for us! He's the best ever, and we are really excited to work with him. He has provided us with an awesome system of speakers that tower over me. (It sounds so much better when we play now!) Anyways, all praise be to God for all this, and in him we have a future. We'll see where it goes from here!

Finally, due to technical difficulties, we are still working on our CD, but it will be delayed a bit. We are planning on having a CD out by the end of the summer. Here's to crossing our fingers! And i think that's it for now. Drop us a note if you need any more info and we'll be glad to get back with ya! Bye for now!
