Rock / Blues / Classic Rock
Formed in late 04, the Detroit based band Hotness has been meticulously fine-tuning their sound and live show much akin to a classic car buff that restores their 70s Mustang. Influenced by those that came before such as The Faces, Humble Pie, T-Rex, Zeppelin and Queen, they long not to reinvent the wheel, but to simply put some kick ass rims on it. Aimed at keeping Detroits ball of trend-setting ingenuity in motion they released their first EP Were Taking Over in the summer of '05.
Noteworthy achievements to date include: being featured on PBS in an episode of Rock and Roll Safari in January '07. The show, produced by Can You Hear Me TV, is a documentary featuring live concert footage and interviews with some of the local scene's top independent talent (Rachel May - The Detroit Free Press, 1/5/07). Hotness also wrote a track specifically for "The Sweet Sounds of Detroit" Volume One compilation, which has been featured on PBS and nominated for a 2007 Detroit Music Award. In addition, Hotness has received airplay on both Riff2s Detroit Local 101 show and the 89X Homeboy Show.
Known for a tight set and bluesy rock mayhem, Hotness has been fortunate to play both '05 and '06 Arts, Beats and Eats festivals, '06 and '07 Metro Times Blowouts, as well as the first Motor City Music Conference. They have also rocked such coveted venues as: The Magic Bag, The Magic Stick, The Belmont, Smalls, and Lager House, as well as various bars and clubs all around Michigan. Hotness has shared stages with dynamic acts such as: The Muggs, Grande Nationals, The Hard Lessons, The Sirens, Universal Temple of Divine Power, Speedball, Skeemin' No Goods, The Beggars and The Sleepers.
