Hopesfall

are set to take you on a journey with their new full-length Magnetic North (Trustkill Records). Those who can't wait for the release were treated to the debut of a new song from the album every week on the band's myspace page and now a full streaming preview of each song is up at www.Trustkill.com's front page. The album, recorded at Vudu Studios in Long Island , NY with producer Mike Watts (As Cities Burn, As Tall As Lions, etc) is the follow up to 2004's A-Types. The title Magnetic North, is a metaphor for personal searches, tells singer Jay Forrest. "Magnetic North is an analogy to something constant that's always wandering, like the magnetic poles that are always there but consistently moving. This record was a very personal search quest, taking a bit of angst from our earlier album Satellite Years and a bit of instrumentation from A-Types and progressing much more forward."

Trustkill is quite excited about the album, and label president Josh Grabelle explains their motives on previewing each track week by week. "Hopesfall fans have waited far too long to only get a mere glimpse at the sheer brilliance of this new album. It is a true escape of the senses and can be appreciated only be listening to it as a whole, which is why we've chosen to give the fans the opportunity to preview the entire album."

Also weighing in on the album is peers from notable bands throughout the scene, a sampling of quotes is below:

  • "Refreshingly fearless and innovative. In a time where so much of rock has become saturated with watered down garbage, Hopesfall brings the listener to a much needed higher ground. Full of heart and soul, Magnetic North is undoubtedly the group at their best. Other bands have ripped these guys off for years. This record should give them the credit they so aptly deserve." -Colin Frangicetto, Circa Survive

  • "Hopesfall's interesting and creative songwriting seems to be evolving with each album, and this sounds like a leap in the right direction." -Chris Rubey, The Devil Wears Prada

  • "Dudes need to stop listening to Sting, put on a fuckin' Madball record, or something." - Jonathan Buske, Terror

  • "I am honored to have seen Hopesfall pretty much every day on Warped Tour two years ago. Not just a beautifully dynamic band but a beautiful bunch of guys. Magnetic North should help to show the people of the world what true emotionally driven powerful music should sound like. Welcome back boys." - Matt Davies, Funeral For A Friend
