Greetings friends and fiends

I know my weekly update is a week late, but hey. You may have noticed that there are some new songs uploaded for your listening pleasure. Ill give you the rundown on each song a little later in the post.

But first we have the new business. In the coming weeks I will be adding a number of different songs to the various music sites to which I belong. This will give every one of my fans lots more of me to download without myself needing to pay for larger storage. Cheap bastard? Exactly. These sites will hold more of the various songs from the Whispers from the Rat Hole compilation album. I will also add new material as it is recorded. I will let you know where to find them in later updates.

You also may be interested to know that my heart and ears have been captured by fractal music. So far I have three songs written in this format. My direction is to combine Math Rock and Dream Pop into a new genre. Nightmare Rock? Lets go with that. These songs will be uploaded after all six planned songs are completed. The album (ep is more like it) will have the word Nightmare in the title although I am not sure how yet.

Now on to the songs on this website:

Cherry Wine is one most of you are familiar with. This is a rerecorded version of the original which you are so familiar with. I dedicate it to Carolyn and Mat-the-Rat, who am the only one.

Rain Shall Fall is a new one recorded for Whispers rather than being from a previous album. Note the combination of junk and middle-eastern percussion under the funk-jazz Rhodes loop. Pure (H+).

Nazi in My Pocket is my little stab at the fundamentalists. Please note however that the volcano line does not refer to me. Sorry girls.

Just Another Dreamtime is also specific to Whispers rather than an older album. I play the bass on this one. I call the vocal style my annoying shriek voice (more annoying than usual, I mean). The lyrics are based almost ad verbatim on a dream I had a few months ago.
