HIRST is a band founded by frontman and twenty-one year old singer/songwriter Mike Hirst... His second full-length, internationally-released, independent album, "Finally", is set for an October 2, 2007 release on Play-On Records...

Mike began his songwriting career at the age of twelve. At that time, Mike's father, Michael J Hirst, an incredible guitarist and singer/songwriter, taught him a few basic guitar chords. Over four-hundred songs, nine albums (many unreleased), five invented alternate tunings, a few hundred shows, and nine long years later, Mike entered the summer of 2007 with even higher expectations for himself and his music. So instead of reaching into his old spiral notebooks, Mike basically locked himself in his bedroom again, and in a matter of weeks, wrote a dozen new songs.

It was about that time that Mike decided to form a band around his already established solo career. The pieces all fell into place beautifully. In less than a week, musicians Jim Denman, Scott Boyce and Joel Aviles were added to the mix. Now the band has tattoos, piercings, afros and style. Don't let that fool you though, every one of these guys loves Jesus Christ and has a heart to bring glory to Him through this music. For through faith in Christ, all things are possible, but without Him, nothing is possible.
