Members: Shelli Harsha & Pam Cantu
Shelli Harsha - Guitar, Vox
Shelli Harsha. Even in her name you can find the word helli as in helicopter as in her music will make you slowly begin to gravitate above the floor. Shelli has been playing guitar for 4 years although for 2 of those years the guitar was playing her but it's better the way it is now. Her vocal cords have been ejaculating the smoothest melodies you've ever heard for 2 years now. Shelli Harsha broke my heart in the 3rd grade. The late Ray Charles once wrote that if he could see Shelli Harsha he could die happy and because he never did Ray Charles died unhappy and now haunts his piano. Sometimes when you hear a car crash you think that it is the exact opposite of what Shelli Harsha's voice sounds like. Shelli Harsha starts the wave at football games. By: Tyler Suder
Pam Cantu - Piano, Vox
Pam Cantu, was born inside of a piano. Her last name comes from the Greek word Cain too which is a festive dance performed with only 2 steps, 1 being to move it and the other being to GROOVE it. She has been singing for 5 years or in robot years it's only 1 second. Her ability to play the piano has been compared to that of a dinosaur's ability to rampage on a village. Some theorize that she was struck by lightning in her head, but not many people believe that because it sounds fatal. Pam Cantu will cook you dinner and tuck you into bed. Pam's piano is named "The golden starfish" and is legally considered a weapon in 37 of the continental states of America. She has nice hair. By: Tyler Suder
An "experiment" from Sugar Land, Tx. Shelli Harsha and Pam Cantu met each other in Summer of 2005 at a park party. They started talking and discovered that both played musical instruments, they talked about jamming but never got around to it. Shelli played solo-acoustic shows at parks and small coffee shops but got tired of being so lonely on stage. She needed a partner. She called up her long lost friend, Pam, and they jammed together for the first time. It was amazing, like a nuclear bomb. With Shelli's soothing vocals and acoustic power chords and Pam's haunting vocals and melodic piano tunes, HiLites was born. They are currently doing gigs all over Houston from clubs to coffee shops to parks. Stay tuned for more news from the HiLites!
