Straight from Hoboken, here's a ferocious rock band radio-ready, muscular, and tuneful sporting well-written songs and a tight, winning sound.
Hey Tiger has already made believers out of rock fans at home. They recently won the Have a Nice Gig contest sponsored by New York's WPLJ-FM whereby the station selected the area's best unsigned band. That achievement resulted in an opening slot at Bon Jovi's July 18th performance at Giants Stadium. They also performed live on The Big Show with Scott and Todd for over 1 million listeners.
September, the band's debut full-length, feels like a record made by a band already at the top of the charts. They've managed to capture a million-dollar sound on a shoestring budget. You will be astonished by the power of the production and the performances preserved on this disc. It's a varied, ten-song set of emotionally-charged, flawlessly-executed rock songs.
Christina Alessi simply owns everything she sings: spitting fire and singing seductively, expressing passion, longing, regret, and excitement with a consistent skill and confidence. The vibrant rhythm section of Jim Lovegrove (bass) and Joshua Bicknell (drums) coupled with the tasteful guitars of Damien Musto and producer Wayne Dorell provide the perfect platform for Alessi's voice. She drives the songs, telling her stories of heartbreak and romantic fulfillment with the assurance of a young Nancy Wilson.
Radio-ready songs I Don't Mind and Fate will fit into any contemporary rock playlist. But this is a multifaceted band, and when they stretch out or slow downas they do on the sweet Simply or the scalding Elizabeththeir arrangement talent becomes evident.
The band will be supporting September with New York area shows throughout 2006. Be sure to check their website www.heytigerband.com and myspace.com/heytiger regularly to keep up with the latest from this terrific emerging act.
Location: Hoboken, NJ

Greetings, I\'m taking this nonfiction writing class at
the New School in Manhattan and I want to find a band
that will be recording an album over the next few
months to write a series of articles. Basically, I
just want to hang out a few times with you all, and sit
in and observe a few recording sessions. I%u2019m
easy-going and the articles likely won%u2019t be
published. Let me know if you%u2019re interested. If
not, do you know a band that might? Thanks! -Peter
