Hey Rosetta! began when Tim was no longer satisfied playing his songs alone. The movement and meaning behind his music demanded something bigger, and so he got five other starry-eyed half-wits to join him. Together, Adam (Guitar), Josh (Bass), Phil (Drums), Heather (Violin), Tiffany (Cello) and Tim (Piano/Guitar/Vocals) create a dramatic and versatile sound that moves between a meditative calm and a shaking intensity, always maintaining memorable lines and melodies.

The band blew up at the local MusicNL conference showcase in November of 2005. They were dubbed the 'buzz band' and 'what to watch in 2006' and praised and cheered to the point of bursting. And it hasn't really stopped.

The band's debut release, simply titled "EP", was a seven-song blend of studio and live recordings, produced, mixed, designed and manufactured by Hey Rosetta! It sold almost too quickly for them to glue together, holding the number one spot at Fred's Record's best sellers list for almost two months. It is still selling swiftly despite the June release of the new full-length album "Plan Your Escape". This moody and epic 13-song CD, produced by Tim and the incomparable Don Ellis, is flying off shelves at most music stores in St. John's (Fred's, CDplus, Musicworld, HMV).

And, because of the band's recent Canadian tours, the album is also available in select stores in Halifax, Charlottetown, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. This past June, they embarked on their maiden voyage across the Maritimes and into Upper Canada. This 13-date tour included a sold out show in Ottawa, a live recording at XM Satellite Radio station in Toronto and way too much Tetris in the van.

More recently, the band just returned from a bigger and busier 17-show tour with Halifax rockers 'Down with the Butterfly', performing at venues like The Attic (Halifax), The Capital (Fredericton), L'Hemisphere Gauche (Montreal), The Rivoli and The Horseshoe (Toronto). The crew managed to stop by a few radio stations again for some interviews and acoustic sessions with the fine people at Q104 (Halifax), CKDU (Dalhousie), CKUT (McGill) and their friends at the Verge (XM Satellite Radio, North America).

At this year's MusicNL awards weekend (one year after showcasing in Grand-Falls) Hey Rosetta! was nominated and awarded 4 MusicNL awards. They received Molson Rock/Pop Group of the Year, Steele Communications Album of the Year, CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award, and Group of the Year. They were pumped! Tim was also nominated for Songwriter of the Year, happily losing that to the legendary Ron Hynes.

More recently still, the band received an ECMA nomination for Newcap Radio Rock Recording of the Year for 'Plan Your Escape' and are excited to be showcasing on the main stage there in Halifax come February.

Hey Rosetta! is a big rolling beautiful thing. Listen to their music. Check out their own little place at www.heyrosetta.com.
