Members: Aaron Ostrowsky
Solo Seattle electronic musician/producer/song writer looking for people to collaborate with.
We live in a world of commercialized music, the easily understandable, predictably forgettable, fast food nutritional junk music, like frosting on the cake, you can only take so much of it alone. Share you mind to the many sounds of the spectrum. Dive into a state that is aware of its' self's ability to listen. In other words, open up your ears. Breath in your mind some fresh musical air. Embrace your fears and stop letting people tell you what is 'good music' , be your own judge and remember... the music represents the feeling.
Heavylight was founded in 2003 by Scottie Lang and Aaron Ostrowsky, in an attempt to bring forth fresh new musical ideas without preconceived notions of what sounds good or bad but just feels right. Now Ostrowsky pushes the light further forward solo in what he calls 'performance-production' in which man and machine merge into one cohesive musical instrument. From funky progressive house, to gritty downtempo hiphop, to electro acoustic and distorted industrial, all of the musical elements are broken down into individually controlled pieces that, remixed in real time, along with live keyboards and guitar, give each performance an energy on par with the greats. That paired with frequent collaborations with other electronic artists such as Theory In Motion, Brian Abby, Astrobalance, as well as Seattle's up and coming hiphop talent Rik Rude and the young and talented acoustic/rock vocalist Lizzie Huffman, gives Seattle another electronic artist worth getting out of the house for.
"There are qualities of Daft Punk in some of the sounds he's used and it's all been put together with a great deal of care and attention...there's something infectiously catchy about it, and we reckon it should have plenty of dancefloor appeal. It's really good to see that Aaron's capable of switching his style around and coming up with something different"-Future Music Magazine FM169 Dec 05
