Who Are Hear The Call?
A new pop-punk band from North Devon, UK. We had all played/performed in bands previously, so we're all pretty experienced at we do. Scott, Josh and Swarvo are all currently at North Devon College, while Jack is just finishing year 11 at Budehaven School in cornwall.
How Did Hear The Call Start Out?
Jack knew Scott, and Josh through his brother, Sam, who is the bass player of the band 'Mixed Tape For Heart Ache' (check them out! they're in our top 8) and it basically started out as Jack and Scott just talking on MSN about creating a band to really take seriously, and be 200% commited and actually make something of it, rather than just a hobbie or something to do in our spare time. Scott then later introduced Jack to his very good friend Swarvo (Josh Day) who is an incredible drummer, and a friendship was instantly made. The name 'Hear The Call' had been with Jack for a while, and was the name for his solo acoustic side project, but both Scott and Swarvo liked the name, so we decided to stick with it. Then, all we needed was a bass player, we put out blogs, bulletins and asked around, but we couldn't find anyone, but then a good friend of Scott and Swarvo's, Josh, offered to play bass for us, and agreed to play bass for Hear The Call full term, and that's it really! But sadly, due to musical differences, Josh Harvey left the band after a couple of months of playing, but we now have someone just as good, our new full term bass player, Sam Pascoe
What Have Your First Few Shows Been Like?
Our first gig was on Friday February 16th, with bands such as Mixed Tape For Heart Ache, Skies Turn Black, Hey Castro! and Maybe Someday, which went really well. We've recently played the Marlboro Club in Ilfracombe, and The Aggy in Braunton, and have a few more shows coming up.
What Are Hear The Call Doing At The Moment?
Right now we're focusing on writing our own material, getting it recorded, and making something of this! We've recently got our first song completed, and it will be the first song recorded, it should be up here in no time at all, and also getting our name out there, by playing shows and any other means necessary! This is just the beginning! Keep your eyes peeled! Thanks!
