nick warren, chris bencivenga, shayne moreland, and mike torti are hanging out and torti's listening to Bane or anchor or By the grace of god or someone and says we should start a band like this with him singing. Everyone laughs at this but decide to do it anyway because we know mike will work at it, and its the only style of hardcore that nick and chris like. We write songs, practice, record a demo, start to play shows. Then around august we started throwing the idea around of recording a new record in the fall. We started writing a ton of new songs and finally hit the studio in October with Shawn Hammer at Midtown Recordings in Erie PA. The final product was a 13 song, 22 minute CD that is a good representation of the band. In January we signed with Undecided Records from Florida to release our record on MAY 3RD 2005. Recently we have added another member to the line-up, our true homeyboy Seth Pacileo, and he began shredding along side Nick. In the winter of 2005 we again had a change in the line up with Nick leaving and the addition of Ben Bowman to bass and Chris moving to Guitar. As the band bonded more and more, the plans for a new record in 2006 were put into place. In mid-March Hank Jones hit the studio to record 7 songs for a 7" that will be coming out late may/early june on Surprise Attack Records. These songs bring a sense of urgency to a scene that is being dominated by bands with no substance. Look for Hank Jones to be on the road all summer across the country and come out and say hi!!

Hank Jones have always been a special band, sort of a "most likely to make you feel good" for the hardcore scene. There's always been something that sets them apart from other hardcore bands, and their new LP "Saturday Night Thunder" shows exactly what this something is. Saturday Night Thunder has all the energy and aggression that their demo and their live show have, but it expands their sound into something truly unique. You can still hear the echoes of bands like Minor Threat and Youth Of Today, but the new album brings in even more of a sense of melody and structure. This new fuller sound captures the energy, urgency and sincerity that makes them special. Saturday Night Thunder is the fulfillment of the potential that Hank Jones had when they burst onto the scene.

Mix the energy and antics of Andrew WK with the fast driving music of Minor Threat and put a positive spin on everything and that is what Hank Jones brings to the table. Sick of the negative attitude in the hardcore music scene, Hank Jones makes their attempt to bring back the fun that is currently lacking. With fast, upbeat music and lyrics that reflect positive thinking they are making their stand in the scene and doing their part to bring the fun back into the music community. With plans of touring for half the year, they plan to spread the positive message to everyone they meet.
