Once upon a time there was a panda bear named Winston. During one of Winston's crazy awesome adventures he stumbled upon a magical machine with many buttons, knobs, lights and switches. Being the curious panda that he was, Winston decided to check it out. He walked over to the machine and pushed a button. Just then a burst of smoke shot from the back of the machine and a genie appeared. He told Winston that he was the genie of the machine and would grant Winston the power of music if Winston would give up his sanity. Winston agreed and from that day on a new, more insane Winston was born. A Handicapped Panda Bear was born.

The Real History of Handicapped Panda Bear

In all seriousness, this mess of drums and sound effects is called Handicapped Panda Bear. My name is Brenden and I am the creator and only member of this project. This all started out with the download of a demo of a programming software called fruity loops. After about four hours of messing around I came up with the song known as "raveXcore". I had decided that it was decent enough to publish on Myspace. So I quickly set out to find a good name for the music. Using a name generator and morphing my results with my own ideas I came up with the name "Her New Assembly". This name only stuck for a few hours and I eventually came up with the name Handicapped Panda Bear, which is partially inspired by the We Came With Broken Teeth Song, "One-Armed Panda". At first I planned on making a full length album with at least 15 decent songs on the track list. I made plans to have my friend Greg put a guitar track on a song. Over time I began to realize that I just didn't have the time to finish a 15 track album, especially considering that I couldn't save a song project while working on it because the demo didn't allow it, which meant a song needed to be finished in one sitting. I just didn't have the time to sit on the computer for five hours to end up with a minute long song as a result. So I cut the album down to a five song e.p. After months and months of procrastination I had four of the five songs done by late spring of 2009. Bad luck struck the project in July of 2009 and my computer crashed and had to be completely wiped out, resulting in the loss of Fruity Loops. Unwilling to re-download the program I cut the e.p. to four songs and it was officially released July 23, 2009. Since then Handicapped Panda Bear has been on hiatus and will be until next summer when I get a mac and garage band. Until then the e.p. is available for free. The e.p. includes all four songs and a digital copy of the cover art. Handicapped Panda Bear's official email is located under general contact, send an email to me and I will reply with all of the files attached to an email. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my music and thanks to any who supported me and will continue to support me throughout the life of this project.
