Horror Flix is a band comprised of four young men from Nutley. The lineup includes Machete, a local rapper with a lot of talent, Nightmare Evil and Pimp Masta', who you may also recognize as the Sweedish Pickles, and Dump Star, the funkiest mother fucker alive. The group has gone through numerous lineup changes in it's start, and there is no garuntee it will stay the same. The band was started on the premise of making some original music; Rap rock, but rap rock in such a way that it hasn't yet been explored. Through throwing many styles and influences together, we have the band you se today, Horror Flix.

Horror Flix can be compared to Rage Against the Machine in the respect that the only four instruments ever used are drums, guitar, bass, and voice. While Horror Flix borrows heavily from their influences (Rage Against the Machine, Linkin Park, Eminem, Tupac, Limp Bizkit, Run DMC, Public Enemy, The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Sugarhill Gang, Rakim, Dr Dre, C-Rayz Wallz, Cage, Nas, Cypress Hil, Disturbed, Biggie Smalls, Immortal Technique, Cannibus, Cassidy, Bob Marley, KoRn, P.O.D., Snoop Dogg, DMX, Papa Roach, AFI, Godsmack), they don't ever copy. The first song the band ever made, titled Worst Nightmare, was the first attempt at this. It had elements from Limp Bizkit, but with a cool creepy twist, and a heavy rap overtone.

How did Horror Flix Start?
Brian and Phil have been friends since middle school, and were both founding members of Epik. After Epik broke up, Brian did a bit of work recording for other artists. His friend Gus came to record, and brought with him his partner, Mike (better known as Mic Machete). This was when Brian first met Mike and realized his talent as a rapper. Almost a year later, Brian was trying to start up a rap-rock group, and Mike was his first choice as a vocalist.

Musician Reviews of Horror Flix
"I wouldnt usually listen to rap, but this is good rap! I liked the way you combined live instruments such as drums guitar and bass with the rapping, i think the sound you make is really nice." - Elysium

"They have a good flow and great feel..They don't just talk about money, cars and clothes....which I give major props for. Job well done." - From the Ashes

"I enjoyed it. I don't usually listen to rap and or rap rock but I think this is done well. The lead can rap well (which is more than can be said for most of the crap on mtv). It was experimental, innovative and something I'd actually listen to. Keep it up" - Taken to the Sky
