After releasing several electronica records over the last few years under the name of nimp, Frenchman, Guillaume Eluerd, recently finished recording his first solo 'songwriter's' album: The Year of the Dog, leaving electronic music behind him, and taking back his own name.
Being also a scriptwriter means that Guillaume spends a lot of his time making up stories and trying to figure out what imaginary people would say to one another in made up conversations. His music seems to come from the same thought process.
Midway between the roughness of Americana Acid Folk luminaries Devendra Banhart and the aching and subtle beauty of Sweden's José Gonzalez, and worthy of Sufjan Stevens' DIY sense; Eluerd's soft voice knows how to hypnotise its audience with simple melodies and a touch of grace.
