Grounds For Assault is a hard hitting, old school hardcore band from Eugene, Oregon. We were formed in February of 2005. This band is a collection of friends from former bands such as Outreach, Under Enuff, EPD, The Last Battle, and Hindz 57. Musically we represent old school hardcore sounds, with new school hardcore influence, fast parts, two step parts, heavy breakdowns, and lots of group vocals. Infuences include, Trial, Champion, Terror, Above This Fire, Comeback Kid, Ensign, Buried Alive, Strife..and so on and so forth. Lyrically we keep our songs from the heart. We sing about real things and how they effect us. In a scene that has left a lot of the meaning and heart felt tones out of the music, we have made it a point to make every song mean something. A lot of our songs deal with the growing amount of violence at hardcore shows. Watching the amount of fighting and tough guy BS grow in the hardcore scene has influenced us to write songs about the way if should be at a show....respect, unity, a good time, somewhere you don't have to worry about being attacked or judged based on how you dress or how you dance. We hope to open the eyes of the "new kids " and teach them what hardcore is truly about. Our first recording is now out and available.
