Greenlight is melodic art punk forged in the West Loop of Chicago. Their diverse musical background and influence brings out an eccentric sound based on rhythm-driven, hook-centric rock. Although the musicians are capable, the consensus is that less is more, and that every song is built around a singular idea. All expression is broken down to its simplest parts -- rhythm and melody.

Greenlight came together in early 2003 and by 2004 had worked on their sound and found their niche. With vocals reminiscent of Ian Curtis, Greenlight is often compared to Joy Division with less despair or a pop-punk version of early B-52's. Their ability to collectively combine their individual musical inspirations and ideas into one creates a sound that is diverse and distinct from other bands in the same genre.

The current lineup is: John Hauppa on guitar and vocals, Shannon Hauppa on guitar and vocals, Jon Mosier on bass, and Thomas O'Shea on drums and backing vocals.
-centric rock.
